Peachy Challenge 32:: Sketch:: August 2012

This week Peachy Keen Stamps is having a sketch challenge.  All you have to do is follow the sketch and use a Peachy Keen stamp. Well I was fortunate enough to win this ADORABLE little stamp during one of their releases. It has been on my wish list FOREVER!  I have been on a "Craft Starvation Diet" lately! That is okay ~ NOT really (LOL) ~ because it forces me to use what I already own! So I pulled him out and let me say he is too CUTE! I LOVE that little pumpkin too! I decided to use my Spellbinders for the layer look. I colored my ghost or should I say the pumpkin with my Copics, added some stitching and tied a little bow.  The tag die and sentiment is from Emma's new release. Something very simple and quick!

Materials Used:

Peachy Keen ~ "Mini Ghost" ~ image
My Creative Time ~ "Just Simply Live" ~ tag
My Creative Time ~ "Card Sentiments" ~ sentiment
Spellbinders
Paper ~ Paper Trey Ink ~ paper from my stash of scraps
Ribbon from Michael's

Teacher Card and MCT "Show Me Your Technique" Announcement

Happy Tuesday ~ before I talk about my card I wanted to share with you all that Emma from My Creative Time is having a "Show Me Your Technique" every Tuesday! So every Tuesday some very talented MCT design team members will be sharing with you and me their technique. Some you may already know about ~ some might be just a different way they do something or maybe you have seen it but never knew how to do it! Listen there are so many techniques out there to learn about! I am super excited for this! Many times I have said to myself how did she/he do that? This week the 3 VERY talented ladies are:

Amy ~  http://www.scrappingmommy.com/
Cassandra ~ http://www.ctimz3.blogspot.com/
Cathryn ~ http://www.inthepinkcathryn.blogspot.com/

For my card today I made this for my son's teacher this year. Everyone always does apples for teachers and I just couldn't help myself! Well yesterday my son started his first day of First Grade! So our house was rather busy in the morning and right after school he was in his first coach pitch baseball game! Sorry to tell you ALL but I have no idea if his team won! LOL! But his day went smoothly and he just seemed to LOVE the WHOLE entire day! YEAH!!! Crossing my fingers this year goes this great every day! Wishful thinking never hurts anyone!

So I LOVE the Preserves cartridge. All the fruit on there is just BEAUTIFUL! So I decided to pull out that Gypsy and play around! Well I have to say I think I won this time! We have a love hate relationship! I welded the apple to make a shape card. Cut out all the layers. Well I didn't like how my leaves weren't PERFECTLY match so I pulled out my new favorite ~ hemp! My sweet friend and fellow MCT design team member, Liz, has a wonderful boutique where you can buy it! Click here. So I just ran some thru my Zyron and solved that problem! I LOVE how it looks on my leaves. Then the decision on what My Creative Time stamp to use! Well of course there are so many to choose from but I pulled out one of my FAVORITES of all time ~ "Teeny Tag Greeting" . Not only does it have some wonderful little sentiments but it also come with these ADORABLE stitch dies! I call it Emma's signature stitching because I just LOVE how it looks on her dies! The other stamp set I used is a WONDERFUL set that I personally think is another must have ~ the "My Teacher Rocks!" .  I just inked up my apple a bit ~ tied a bow and done!!!

Alright that is it for today! So please head over to these VERY creative, talented and beyond SWEET ladies blogs! I am sure you WON'T be disappointed!!!

My Creative Time ~ "Scrappy Monday"

Good morning! Today is "Scrappy Monday" over at My Creative Time. Emma is encouraging ALL of us to do more layouts! I am beyond thrilled for this and so is my husband! Emma already knows this because I tell her ever chance I get how happy my husband and son are when I get another page done. Even though I am not the best at layouts ~ I encourage ALL you to do them as well! There is nothing like documenting those precious memories in our lives! Thanks Emma!

So for my layout today I chose to go back when we first brought our son home from the hospital. These pictures are of my Dad and son on his first day home. Seeing the joy and love in my Dad's eye just brings back such wonderful memories. He adored my son more than anything in the world! I can remember when he was holding him ~ saying to myself take pictures of his hands. I never wanted to forget my Dad's hands holding my son. I am so glad I did! That is why I called this page "Hands Of Love". I used Emma's "Fancy Frame Stamp & Die Set"  for the "of" part of my title. What I used to journal is actually from Emma's new release. It is the 3x3 tri~fold card that comes with the "Card Sentiments". I LOVE how long it is and I think it is PERFECT for journaling. The lines I used are from the clipboard from "Honey Do List" . Of course I had to use my favorites (well actually they ALL are ~ hehehe) The "Build A Banner Kit" and "Anyday Bingo and Crosswords Stamp Set" !  I couldn't help but to use the stitched heart and XOXO from "100% Sweetness" either! The punch of red broke up all the guys colors. Last but not least I decided to use the tape die from Emma's "Just Simply Live". This set not only comes with a Polaroid die and wonderful sayings but it has the BEST little letters and numbers ever! I can see me using these for TONS of things!

A few more things I wanted to add about my layout.  The buttons used today are from my Grandma's button drawer.I think she had well over 1,000 buttons!  So my Dad's Mom is part of this special page. I also encourage anybody with a newborn or young children or actually at any age to take pictures of the hands of loving family members. You make think it is crazy but when they are no longer here ~ it is so nice to see and remember their hands. Also ALWAYS journal using your handwriting! Someday your children, their children and so on might just wonder what it looked like. I do not care for mine but I will continue to add it as much as possible. The rest of my materials use I will add at the bottom of my picture!

I figure why not just attach a simple tag to it! I just stamped some holly leaves ~ one you can make yourself and the other comes already made for you! I colored them with my Copics, added a little touch of bling and stamped my sentiments! Easy right! Again simple, quick and a nice gesture for those who keep us going!!!

Peachy Keen Challenge 31:: 3D Objects:: Box It Up!

Good afternoon! I am posting late! We are getting ourselves ready my son's first day of school as a 1st grader! He is so lucky, he gets to be the first 1st Grade Class at the "new" school! Bitter sweet for me because my Dad taught at his older school which I was fortunate to attend! Even thought it was a Junior High when I went there! But this morning they had an open house! WOW! It is simply BEAUTIFUL! He seemed excited and the teachers, Principal's and staff were so HAPPY to see him and the other students! We are so lucky to have such wonderful people guiding our children in our community! Truly BLESSED! They love our children as if they were their own!

Anyway this week Peachy Keen is having a challenge! We are to make some sort of 3D item! Well I decided to make a box for this upcoming flu and cold season! With school starting and the weather changing I am sure this will come in handy! I figure I could put some different teas, hot chocolate and other little items in it! I decided to take the stamp Winter Baby in Teacup ( I think this one is in the PKS volt) and tweak it. So I had some fabric ~ so I decided to stamp the image on it. I paper pieced the cup and part of the hat! I will say fabric is NOT the easiest thing to paper piece but it can be done! I LOVE this ADORABLE stamp! I did pull out some Copics for the face and hands. But I didn't want to use the snowflakes. SO A sweet friend sent me some Stampin Up Dahlias! Oh I am in LOVE with them! Click here to place an order. So I cut of the the snowflake at the bottom of the cup and covered up the little snowflake on the hat. I decided to attach the image onto My Creative Time Tag Dies ~ I just LOVE that signature stitching. I like doing this for 2 reasons ~ one being they can use this box again for something else and the tag can be used for a book marker. Some people actually still like reading actual books! LOL.

Materials Used:
Peachy Keen Stamps ~  PK-236 Winter Baby In Teacup ~ image ~ RETIRED
My Creative Time ~ Tag Dies ~ tag
My Creative Time ~ Just Simply Live ~ label die
My Creative Time ~ Card Sentiments ~ sentiment
Paper ~ Paper Trey Ink and Recollections
Ribbon from M's

So for today's projects I will be showcasing the new stamp set "Piles of Smiles" ! Well let me say Fall is my families FAVORITE time of year! We love the colors, the cooler weather and of course the pumpkin patches! So with all that said I decided to use Emma's new leaf dies that are included in this set! OMG ~ they are so fun and have her signature stitching on them! Well I wanted to show you just how versatile Emma's products are. My pumpkin is made from her Egg dies! You can buy them in the stamp set "Hello Spring" . They are layering dies. I chose to use the stitched one but have a none stitched pumpkin already made up! You will see me use these a GREAT deal for my pumpkins in the future ~ whether it be for a card or layout!!! My stem came from the die that comes with the stamp set "Fly Away With Me  Sentiments" . Yes ~ it is the banner die! You will rarely hear me say this but I LOVE HOW THESE TURNED OUT!!! My burlap and hemp are from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique. I also used Emma's "Tag Dies" .

Onto my next project! I made this cute little tag. I figure I could make some pumpkin rolls ( or have my SIL make them because she makes the BEST) and attach some tags to them! I stamped my sentiment, which is from the "Piles Of Smiles" stamp set, on the "Teeny Tag Greetings" dies! My CUTE little pumpkins and leaves are from this new stamp set as well! There are so many different images and sentiments to pick from! My hemp is from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique .

MCT ~ August Stamp Release Sneak #3

Hello it is day #3 of My Creative Time's August Stamp Release! I have been enjoying seeing my fellow DT's AMAZING projects! WOW! Miss Emma has really out done herself with this release ~ wouldn't you say! So many FABULOUS images, sentiments and dies!!! Today we will be showcasing the stamp set "Just Simply Live" with coordinating dies"!  This stamp set has a Polaroid die and a tape/label die that comes with it! It has Emma's signature stitching on both dies. The sentiment I will be using is "Life worth living!". I have to say I LOVE this sentiment ~ okay ALL the sentiments on this stamp set. When I think of this sentiment I think of my family. They truly are "Life worth living !".

For my first project I chose to do a layout. I chose to show you you can use it for traditional layouts. They would TOTALLY be cool to use them in Smash books and for Project Life! But since I have started my son's scrapbook ~ I wanted to keep this year the traditional way! But next year I may start changing the way I do his books. Only time will tell! I have to share with you this special day with my son. He thought he could pull out this crooked tree in our yard with his battery operated quad. My husband and I watched him for about an hour! It really was  one of those cherished memories that make our ~ "Life worth living!" I used so many sentiments from the stamp set "Inspiring Words" and one sentiment from "Have Fun In the Sun" .  These words TOTALLY fit this tape/label die and works so well with soooo many of Emma's other stamp sets. All you have to do is print wallet sized pictures and find a PERFECT MCT sentiment. The arrows are also from this stamp set. If you notice in the lower right hand corner ~ there is a date ~ well these letters and numbers come in this stamp set as well! I also used "Build A Banner Kit" and "Anyday Bingo & Crossword" stamp set. I REALLY think Emma's product work BEAUTIFULLY with layouts!  There is also another  Sneak somewhere on this layout! One important thing when doing a layout make sure you journal and put a date on it! Hey I don't care for my handwriting but later my son and grandchildren will enjoy reading  about why this day was scrapped and maybe what my handwriting looked
like!

My next project I wanted to show how you can make a picture card using the sentiment "Life worth living!" I decided to make a pedestal card of our family. I made this for my husband because at the end of September there will a be a big change in his life and our families. So I wanted to remind him family is "Life worth living!" ! I also used one of his grandma's buttons for this card just to make it more about family. The year under the sentiment on the front of the card and on the inside the "WE LOVE YOU" ~ I used the numbers and letters from this stamp set. As you can see by the date ~ this picture was taken in 2010 ~ WOW!  You can write/ journal ANYTHING you want or need!  My little red hearts came from  "Happy Mail" stamp set!

Also all of my hemp on both projects are from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique. I am not going to bore you with all the materials I used because my post is so long and I want you to go see all the other FABULOUS projects. If you have any questions just email me ~ I will try to answer any questions.

MCT ~ August Stamp Release Sneak Peek Day #2

Happy Tuesday! Well I am hoping that you all got to see Emma's, from My Creative Time, Sneak Peak Day #1! Isn't the new release FABULOUS! I think Emma and ALL the DT's did an INCREDIBLE job! Well I can guarantee you ~ you WON'T be disappointed today either! Today they will be showcasing the new stamp sets, "From our Family to Yours" , "It's A Magical Season" & "Warm Holiday Fun" . Again these sets have wonderful sentiments, images and dies! Emma really has thought of EVERYTHING with this release! I am truly so excited. I promised a short post yesterday and today but tomorrow will be a rather long post ~ so lets get to my card!

Today isn't my scheduled day to post but I just couldn't resist playing with these BEAUTIES! I decided to combine 2 of the new stamp sets together. I used the "Warm Holiday Fun" (this set has coordinating dies) and "It's a Magical Season" . I decided to make a rosette and use my Scallop & Stitched Circle Die. I stamped the CUTE new sentiment and figured out that the new jingle bell ornament fits PERFECTLY in the center! Woo hoo! Even though there are many images that do fit in the center ~ I thought I would give this a try for a change! My sentiment, the silver bell ( or jingle bell) and the lines on my card are from the stamp set ~ "Warm Holiday Fun" . The round sentiment that fits PERFECTLY is from the stamp set "It's a Magical Season" . So if you just happen to stop by ~ head on over to My Creative Time and see all the incredible projects!

Sorry for the picture ~ I have to say it looks so much better in person! I actually really like it! LOL!

August Stamp Release Sneak Peak #1

Good morning and welcome to My Creative Time August Sneak Peek Day #1! Well after a long Summer Miss Emma is back with yet another FABULOUS release! Let me just say there is so many wonderful images and sentiments for so many occasions! Not to mention ALL the dies! You WON'T be disappointed ~ TRUST me! My goal this week is not to keep you long so lets get right into my projects.
Today I will be showcasing the Stamp set "Treats For My Sweet" and the sentiment from this stamp set ~ "Just say Boo"! I had so much fun with this stamp set ~  I had to make 2 projects! I also Sneak Peaked something else that will coming on Wednesday. It has Emma's signature stitching ~ which I LOVE!!!  So the adorable ghosts, bats and spider webs are on this set ~ with tons more too! I heat embossed the spider webs! Let me just say they emboss BEAUTIFULLY! I must have embossed a whole sheet of them!! I found them rather addicting!

For my next card I wanted to show how versatile Emma's other sentiments and dies can be with this new release. So I used the XL Label Die, the sentiment and die from the stamp set "Fly Away With Me Sentiments & Banner Dies" and the die from "Build A Banner Stamp Kit".  I decided to use that Gypsy and make a shape card. I thought it would be cute to have my sentiment say ~ "Flying by to  ~ Just say Boo"! Perfect for a Halloween card for someone!

Okay I made it as short as possible! Now head on over to Emma's blog at My Creative Time and see ALL the AMAZING projects that the other creative DT's made! But before you go...

Peachy Keen Challenge 30:: Just Cards :: Popped Up

Happy Sunday! Peachy Keen Stamps is having a challenge this week about "popping up" our cards! I LOVE to add dimension to not only cards but to my layouts as well! Sometimes I add too much dimension ~ it makes my cards thick and hard to fit into an envelope~ but honestly ~ I like it that way! You can click here for all the details.

So for my card today my son is invited to a bowling birthday party in just a few hours! So I thought why no make a bowling card for the birthday boy. Simple, quick and easy right! Well as many as you know I RARELY use my Gypsy! Let me just say it would TOTALLY be quick for ALL of you but this took me some time! Eventually I decided to just cut the 2 middle pins out separately!! I could not get it them to weld right! Oh well practice makes perfect! I used the "In Stitches Face Assortment" stamp set! I thought it would be perfect because the pins look like they were having fun until the one realized it was going to be hit by that heavy bowling ball! It actually is cracking me up as I right! Poor pins constantly getting hit by bowling balls! LOL! I used my XL Label Die from My Creative Time for the background. For my popping I ended up adding an Action Wobble! Those things give anything wonderful dimension and it wobbles too!

I am slightly bummed you can't see the dimension! I tried taking pictures from the side but the sun is so bright here today and making them all blurry! But trust me ~ there is dimension!

Materials Used:

Peachy Keen Stamps ~ "In Stitches Face Assortment" faces
My Creative Time ~ Stitched Oval Die ~
My Creative Time ~ XL Label Die ~
My Creative Time ~ "Wow! So Many Candles" ~ sentiment

I will be listing all my materials under each picture since I am combining both challenges!.

CHALLENGE #1  is from Saundra, one of the design team members. She would like us to create a "special fold" card and we must use at least 3 pattern papers on it! Well I have to admit ~ I admired so many of you out there who can do this! I seem to struggle with using pattern paper. let alone 3! But I really want to Thank her for challenging me to give this a try! I actually really enjoyed doing this challenge! Thank You Saundra! I actually like how my card turned out! I need to do this more often!

Kites, Kites and More Kites!

I just wanted to share with you a few cards I made using Emma from My Creative Time June release. In her last release she had these CUTE kites!!! I wanted to make the cards real simple. I have been loving simple lately!  So I decided these kites were it! I LOVE the saying "Flying by to say..." that I used them on ALL of my cards. But I wanted each card to have a different saying or meaning to it. So I looked thru all of Emma's stamps and found the ones I thought I would use the most. I will list all the stamp sets below. I also wanted them all to be a tad different. Whether it be by color, technique or material I used. I pop dotted most of my kites for dimension. Some I added hemp from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique or added some twine. I paper pieced some of the bows, some I just colored the bows. All are pretty much the same but a tad different. Emma's sentiments can be mixed and matched to fit your personal need! That is why I LOVE them! I am so relieved to have a small stash of cards on hand ~ FINALLY!!!

Sorry for the picture ~ I must have had a smudge mark on my lens! My poor little pink card looks messy!

My Creative Time ~ "Fly Away With Me Sentiments" ~ all cards and purple card
