Peachy Keen Challenge #23 ~ Anything Goes

Good morning! Today I have a card I made for the Peachy Keen Challenge ~ "Anything Goes"! Click here for all the details. Well when Peachy Keen had their last sale I couldn't help but buy the stamp set "Happy Flowers and Cheerful Phrases". I sweet bloggy friend totally told me it is a MUST have. It has really CUTE images, faces and sentiments! I am so glad I did!
So for my card I decided to use my spellbinder for the shape. I LOVE this shape ~ it is so fun to play around with! I stamped my sky using PKS " Cloudy Day" (another MUST have stamp). For my grass I die cut that using the same spellbinder but only did a portion of the paper. The paper hoarder in me couldn't waste a whole piece of paper! LOL! Once I adhered the grass part, I stamped the image of the watering can & flowers. I then stamped the image on white card stock so I could color it with my Copics. But something wasn't sitting right with it. So I decided to stamp just the flowers and the tip of the spout out (colored them with my Copics) so I could pop dot those images. The picture doesn't show the dimension it actually gives the card but it does make a impact in person! I then paper pieced the can and the leaves. For my water coming out of the watering I can I used my PKS "Happy Go Lucky Elephant" die. It has these neat little water cuts on it. So I added some glossy accents to give it some shine! Added a few more little details and hopefully my friend will think it is CUTE! I know I do!

Peachy Keen Challenge 21::" 3~D Objects You've Been Framed!

Yeah 2 weeks in a row I get to play along over at the Peachy Keen Challenge! This week it is ALL about frames! Well I have had this frame, from Micheal's for about a year now that I bought for $1.oo. After searching high and low for this I FINALLY found it! I knew what picture I wanted to use and the idea was rather simple! This picture is of my son from last year when we were taking down his pool. We have one of those ~ blow up one ~ we call it our "redneck" pool! Hey it works for him and us to keep cool in the summer. Anyway my hubby used a pump to take out all the water and my son had a BLAST playing with the hose! Honestly he had more fun with that hose than in the pool! Go figure! LOL! So I stamped my background using their new "Cloudy Day" background stamp! I have to say this is a "MUST HAVE" stamp! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I used some Stampin Up paper that is wonderful to have for grass and made them sort of look like hills. I paper pieced my PKS sun and popped the face to give it a little dimension. Then I just couldn't resist using that CUTE duck! I just LOVE him too! I liked the look of the cloud stamp so much I decided to use that for my background for my tag ( which I cut in half). For my sentiment I used 2 different My Creative Time stamps. That is what I LOVE about those stamps ~ you can mix and match them to what you need. Added my favorite Stampin Up ribbon for a little accent! I LOVE how this frame turned out ~ simple and quick to put together!

I took 2 pictures so you can that the goggles also have acetate for the lenses! Plus you might be able to see my picture of my little man better! LOVE how that water looks in the picture! He had the BEST time with that hose makes me smile just looking at it again!

My Creative Time ~ "Scrappy Monday" Challenge

Happy Monday! It is time for "Scrappy Monday" Challenge over at My Creative Time! I really am excited Emma started this challenge! It helps the design team, myself and hopefully YOU to get caught up on our scrapbooks! So this challenge is for layouts ONLY! For this challenge Emma asked us to follow a sketch and incorporate some sort of fiber on our layout! For example: jute, twine, hemp, burlap etc! You have until Sunday, June 24th to add your layout to the challenge! Sounds like fun to me!

I usually like to scrap in chronological order but at times I will scrap something more recent. Well these pictures today are of my son when he was barely a month old! YIKES! He is going to be 7 this year! But again ~ I get to look back, remember fond memories and root through my boxes of pictures. I like to use 12 x 12 pages for my layouts. The white paper in the back is sort of like canvas paper ~ VERY thick paper! LOVE it! I also decided to use some embellishments I had from way back! I think they mix well with Emma's stamps and dies!  All my hemp and burlap is from my fellow design team sister ~ Liz from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.

My Creative Time Throwback Thursday ~ "Color" Challenge

Good morning! Welcome to My Creative Time "Throwback Thursday Challenge"!  This challenge will be a "COLOR Challenge" Miss Emma has chosen this BEAUTIFUL picture to not only challenge the design team but to challenge you!!! How fun does that sound!!!  All you have to do is use ANY older cartridge and create any project of your choice ~ card, layout, 3~D, home Decor but just get inspired by the picture! DEADLINE for the challenge will be on Wednesday, June 20th! Easy right!

So for my card today I have ALWAYS wanted to use this mushroom! I just LOVE when I see other crafters using it and thought it is about time I give it a try! I cut it out at 5 inches. I wanted to use as many colors I could see in the picture. The one color that stood out the most to me, believe it or not, is the natural wood with the peg sticking out! So for my base I used a real neutral color. I LOVE to layer ~ so my mushroom cap was cut out twice ~ to add a little depth. I also wanted to try and use as many different patterns and textures as possible ~ again inspired by so many of you who are able to do this. I inked up the edges, tied a a big bow on the stem and added some burlap for grass!  All my stamps and dies are from My Creative Time and the hemp & burlap is from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.  Easy and quick card!

Materials Used:
Cricut Cartridge ~ Cindy Loo ~ mushroom
My Creative Time ~ "Floral Sentiments" ~ "Hello"
My Creative Time ~ "Build A Banner Kit" ~ 2 of the banner dies

"Monday Madness... Imagine That!" Challenge

Happy Monday! Today is "Monday Madness... Imagine That!" Challenge over at My Creative Time. Emma has asked the design team and YOU create something anything that comes to mind that makes YOU happy! If you have an Imagine, please use it but if you don't that is okay too ~ just use pattern paper for your project! Examples: Disneyland, coffee, your family, summer... basically anything that brings happiness into YOUR life! Don't forget to link up your project! The deadline for this challenge is June 17th!

Well there are so many things that brings happiness to my life but since my son will be graduating from kindergarten this week I had to make a project about this happy event. He has done such a FABULOUS job this year at the "BIG" school, that is what we call it in our house, I wanted to make something for him and his fellow classmates. My hubby and I are so PROUD of him, not only with his school work, but with making new friends, how he conducts himself outside the house, his ability to go above and beyond ( that is what his AWESOME teacher has told us and him) and just his attitude towards school! So with all that said I decided to make him and his friends bookmarks! They all are just learning to read and are assigned some chapter books for summer reading. I though that be a great idea and to celebrate this happy occasion.

I really wanted to make these simple, they are for 6 year olds! I used the Imagine cartridge Notebook Doodles for my background paper and Emma's Tag Dies for the tags. I just love these tags and her signature stitching! I just punched out circles, die cut some caps, mustaches ( for the girls hair ), added some Peachy Keen stamps for the faces, stamped a sentiment and added some ribbon & twine! DONE! Easy, quick and fun for the kids! I couldn't help myself to put some tape on the back of the tags and add some candy too! The tape comes off very easy.

Imagine Cartridge ~ Notebook Doodles
