Guest Designer ~ Die Cuttin' Divas

I have 2 posts for today. My "Try Me Tuesday" post for My Creative Time can be seen by clicking here.

Good morning! I am super excited that Georgiana and Anita have asked me to guest design over at Die Cuttin' Divas. Super sweet and talented bunch of ladies (Divas).

http://diecuttindivas.blogspot.com/

The challenge is Umbrella Month. Just make sure you include an umbrella somewhere on
your project. Super simple right!

For my project I wanted to make a gate fold card but wanted to be able to close it up so the recipient could open it like a present. So I put some slits on the back and threaded the ribbon through the back. I did leave my ribbon a tad longer than I normally would, only because if the recipient wants to tie it back up they had enough ribbon to do it. We all know it can be hard to tie bows. Okay for me it is at least! LOL! I had to use the Stitched Umbrella Die from My Creative Time. It so cute and the perfect size for cards. I also heat embossed my sentiment and image with white embossing powder on vellum. I will list the rest of my materials below.

Materials Used:
Paper ~ PTI, MME and vellum
Ribbon ~ PTI
MME enamel dots
white embossing powder

I would like to thank these wonderful ladies ( Divas ) for having me as a guest designer! It was an honor, so Thank You!

MCT ~ Try Me Tuesday

Good morning! Today is Try Me Tuesday over at My Creative Time with Emma and the ladies!
Today we will be showing you how to use your dies as card bases. Start by taking a piece of cardstock folded in half and placing the die so that the folded edge of the cardstock is just inside the cutting line of the die. Easy enough, right? I must admit I have had this idea in my little brain for some time. I took the bottom of the Treat Slider Box die and saw a door! I know you all think I have totally lost it over here but that is okay! I just needed the right sentiment! Well low and behold Emma came out with the stamp set, awhile ago, Things I Love... and it has the PERFECT sentiment!
So I die cut the bottom part of the slider box out. I then got my X-acto knife, I rarely use this thing because the one time I did I cut myself pretty bad, and carefully cut out the center. I wanted my glass part to have a frosted look so I added vellum. You could use acetate as well for more of a glass look but since I wanted to have my inside have some funky looking wallpaper ( hehehe ~ these peeps might live in a 70's type house or have Easter themed wallpaper) I thought they need the frosted door look. Goodness my imagination is over the top with this post, right?? Then they have this big sign that says "Shut the front door!" They certainly don't want anyone to see their funky wallpaper! Oh my I am cracking up here just writing this post! I know my friend will love this card since we say this all the time & have the same corky sense of humor! I will list all my materials I used below and will let you all and have a good day! LOL

MCT ~ Tag It Tuesday

Good morning and welcome to Tag It Tuesday! Today Emma and the My Creative Time design team will be bringing you tags.

Well apparently I don't want to stop celebrating St. Patty's Day here! LOL! I thought I would share a simple little tag you can add to a treat & for that special someone in your life. I bought these gold See's candy coins for my son for St. Patty's Day. Oh my I LOVE their chocolate and I am not even a sweet person! I'm the salt girl but who would have thought chocolate could be so yummy! I blame this on my friend Katie! Oh back to my project ~ sorry!  I couldn't help but use the "You're My Pot of Gold!" sentiment ( the name of this set is actually the sentiment I just typed)  along with the adorable hat die from "I'm A Lucky Girl" .  I seriously LOVE both of these sets!!!

This is my too little gifts together. See yesterdays post for the details on the root beer sleeve.

Materials Used:
Paper ~ PTI and Bazzill
Ink ~ Stampin Up and VersaMark

Well today is Emma and the My Creative Time design team create something that inspires us. I found this picture and just fell in love with it.

This will be going to a very  sweet and kind lady who thought of my family and myself. I have only met her once under horrible circumstances. She took the time to do something so kind, thoughtful and loving for us over Christmas, that she will be forever in our hearts ~ Thanks Sandy. She won't see this post...

MCT ~ Try Me Tuesday

Today is Try Me Tuesday over at My Creative Time with Emma and the design team. We were asked to use one of Emma's dies in a way that is unexpected, that is not its intended use. Well I LOVE this idea because I am constantly twisting and turning the My Creative Time dies, just to see what else we can create with them.

I must admit when Emma sent us the Cocktail Party Stitched Dies, I fell in love with them. I also thought, what else can we use these dies for, concentrating on the little liquid parts mainly. I can see the glasses being used as vases but the little die resembling liquid was my main focus.  Then it hit me, carrots!! It could be tops of carrots poking out of the ground! Okay so know you all are thinking, she has gone lost it for sure!! So my little bunny is smaller than my carrots right but my thought, she is going to have one HAPPY EASTER eating those big carrots!! LOL! Just a fun way to try and think outside the box and a use all of our My Creative Time dies a little more!
