"Thinking Of You" Card ~ My Creative Time Bubble Gum Treat Box Die

Today I wanted to share a card with you that I made using My Creative Time Bubblegum Treat Box Die. You are probably sitting there wondering where or how did she use that die! Or maybe you are thinking this woman has LOST her mind! Well if you look REAL hard at my background you may see it! I made treats for my son to take to school for Valentine's Day ~ click here. I saved ALL the diamond shapes from that project. In a video Emma did, she had suggested that maybe if you were to make a lot of them ~ you could keep these little shapes and doing something with them. Click here to see Emma's video. WELL ~ the paper hoarder in me DID!!! LOL! All I did was glue the shapes in a pattern to get my background paper! I LOVE how this turned out to be quite honest! Simple, easy and a way to use ALL those little pieces up!

Now before I forget Emma and the design team are showcasing today "My FAVORITE Stamp of The Month"! What that means is that those sets, only, are on SALE! Yes ~ SALE! So head on over to My Creative Time, check out the projects and shop!

My Creative Time 3~D Wednesday

Good morning and welcome to My Creative Time 3~D Wednesday! Today Emma and the design team will be featuring anything but a card or layout. So for my project I have decided to borrow an idea I saw off of my sweet friend Katie. Click here for the details ~ she gives AMAZING instructions. You are probably asking why I have decided to borrow this idea. Besides LOVING hers, I actually need to mail a small gift to a friend, for awhile now, and need it to be flat but presentable. So I thought why not give this a try!

I won't bore you with all the details but I will tell you about some ideas I used. When I saw the bottom of the box looking plain, I decided to stamp it using one of the flower images from "Bloom Where You Are Planted" stamp set. I also looked at the tissue paper as I was placing the gift inside the box and thought this looks rather plain too. So I got my Script Type Backgrounds stamp out and just inked up that tissue paper! I actually like how this looks. I also didn't want to send a card but just a small note to my friend. I knew that Emma's Tag Dies would be PERFECT for a little note! Just embellish the front and add a little note on the back! PERFECT! Oh I couldn't help myself to use my new found LOVE ~ burlap and hemp! Thanks to my fellow DT member Liz from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique. I have fallen in LOVE with her boutique! I will list ALL the other materials and products used below.

Materials Used:

Cartridge ~ Tags, Bags, Boxes & More ~ matchbox
My Creative Time ~ Tag Dies
My Creative Time ~ Flower Petal Dies
My Creative TimeBloom Where You Are Planted ~ stamped flower image on box bottom

My Creative Time ~ Script Type Backgrounds ~ tissue paper
Liz's Paper Loft Boutique ~ burlap and hemp
Paper ~ Paper Trey Ink and Stampin Up

"Team Purple" ~ Poster Boards

Today I am going to share with you what I have been working on for my sweet, courageous and young friend Miss Hannah! I usually refer to her as Miss "H" but today you will actually see her name. She just happens to be the daughter of my son's kindergarten teacher ~ Mrs. Smith. Hannah is a young lady fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She went thru 6 weeks of chemotherapy, the last 3 were VERY aggressive, and 14 radiation treatments. Hannah has since completed here treatments and we are waiting for ALL the results. She was a trooper through it all. Always thought of others, kept her grades up and NEVER, NEVER complained. But during this time her sister, Leah age 12, NEVER, NEVER left her side!

So Hannah has done The Relay for Life for a friend of hers who lost her sister just a few years back. But Hannah's sister Leah wanted to form a team for her sister. Even thought Leah LOVES the color pink she decided to make her team "Team Purple" for Hannah. My goodness the tears are just flowing from my eyes just writing this ~ seriously! So with all this said and it was sort of a last minute decision, I couldn't let Leah's not have a sign for the  team. These two young ladies taught me so much. A SISTERS LOVE IS EVER LASTING ~ THROUGH THE GOOD AND BAD TIMES ~ YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON YOUR SISTER! ALWAYS!

Onto my signs. The first poster is just a REAL simple poster. My idea was for it to be a chalkboard ~ where EVERYONE to could sign it and encourage Hannah, wish her warm wishes or just be silly! My son's whole class signed it before Hannah and Leah got to see the poster. I used foam boards 3/16 inch thick. I went to Lowe's and bought 1/4' x 1 1/2' x 2" wood so my WONDERFUL husband can screw through the foam boards & wood to make them like a picket sign. He ended up cutting the screws off in the back so no one would injury themselves on the sharp ends. Sharpie makes poster-paint pens that work PERFECTLY. Of course they are white ~ sort of like Sakura gel pens. I couldn't resist on adding  My Creative Times Rolled Flowers  ALL around the heart! I seriously did ALL of these and more in one evening! That is how quick, easy and wonderful these flower dies are! I left the center of the heart empty. Why you may ask. I wanted the family to decide what they wanted to do. I gave them some ideas for that. I told them they could let only the family sign, the team sign, add a family picture or add a picture of Hannah and Leah. Whatever they wanted to do! To be honest I have no idea what they chose. When we got there we were to busy running around doing all the activities at all the tents! LOL! I was such a GREAT charity event and met so many wonderful survivor's and families! My son just had a BLAST!

Okay for my next poster I wanted to make it FUN, BUSY, BLINGED OUT and TOTALLY NOTICEABLE on the track! Well let me just say ~ the team stood out!! LOL! Hannah, Leah and the poster made the local paper! Yeah girls! I used a white foam board for this but added 2 different shades of purple to it. This took me FOREVER to do trying to line the papers PERFECTLY!  Then I just went to town on the papers, the glitter stars, the deep purple ribbon, stickles anything to make "Team Purple" SHINE!

These were so DIFFICULT to photograph! In the shade it wouldn't capture the purples right! But the pictures in sun ~ too bright! Anyway the girls LOVED them and that is ALL that mattered to me! I was so out of my normal comfort zone ~ especially using the color PURPLE! I am so blessed to have these to young ladies in my families life! They really are wonderful, Thankful, well mannered young ladies. Their LOVE for each other so reminds me of me and my sister ~ just PRECIOUS!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to wish ALL of you a Happy Mother's Day! It doesn't matter if you are a MOM to a 2 legged, four legged or something that has fins ~ you are still a Mom! I hope it is filled with lots of LOVE, HUGS and KISSES!

For my card I decided to something very quick! I made my siding with 1/2 inch strips of paper (layered on top of each other)~ inked just a tad. I used a window die my friend Janice told me about months ago (Thank You Janice) and popped it up. Aren't these flowers just the CUTEST! They are the Flower Petal Dies that Emma over at My Creative Time had in her last release! LOVE that signature stitching! My little sign on the top is MCT Stitched Oval Die with the sentiment from Mom You Rock Stamp Set!
Well that is it for this project ~ no long post ~ I hope your day is a GREAT and Happy one!

Emma's "Surprise" Birthday Blog Hop

Hello ~ welcome to Emma's "Surprise" Birthday Blog Hop and Throwback Thursday Challenge! There is lots of fun and exciting things happening all at once here ~  so I will try to keep this as short as I possibly can! You should have arrived from the talented Miss Katie's blog.

Well we are celebrating Miss Emma's, from My Creative Time, Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Miss Emma! I have to say she is the SWEETEST, KINDEST, MOST ADORABLE, BEAUTIFUL, THOUGHTFUL, CREATIVE and SPECIAL person! I would add more adjectives to describe her but I promised to keep this a short. I have followed her since I started my journey into blogland! She has shared her love for paper to so many through the years. Emma ~ I continue to learn off your videos, your creations and from your incredible products! I LOVE how versatile they can be! The best part about Emma is her LOVE for FAMILY! That is what I admire the most about her! So with all that said ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY ~ sweet friend~ I know it will be filled with lots of LOVE, HUGS and KISSES!

Onto the Throwback Thursday Challenge! We are using any "OLDER" cartridge with balloons, party hats, or cakes and Emma's stamps. Please create ANY project of your choice. In celebrating her birthday ~ Miss Emma will be giving away a Cuttlebug! Yes ~ you heard me correctly! You have 2 weeks to play along! Click here for all the details.

For my card I decided to you use the cartridge Sweet Treats. I cut my party hat @ 5 inches. (cut 3 times ~ so I can give it some dimension). The party hat had a topper for it but I knew Emma's Scallop Circle Die would be CUTER to use! So I die cut that out 3 times added a button! Somewhere along the line I thought I have heard Emma say she likes orange, fingers crossed on this one, so I just had to use paper with orange polka dots! For my background I used Emma's Fun Boarders stamp set (background & heat embossed) and for my sentiment I used Polka Dot "Surprise"! I thought the stamps should be a little throwback with Emma's products to fit the challenge! All paper is Paper Trey Ink.

Okay with all that said ~ in order to win the BLOG HOP GRAND PRIZE you have to comment on ALL the designers blogs and LEAVE away to be contacted! You have until Sunday night to comment. The Blog Hop GRAND PRIZE is the following My Creative Time products:

Peachy Challenge :: Just Cards ~ Card for Kelli

Good evening all! I am so excited that I actually got a card made for the Peachy Challenge~  over at Peachy Keen Stamps! I just adore their stamps! My card also serves as a purpose. I made this for a friend of mine, his niece, Kelli. She is going through a bit of a rough patch right now and I hope this brightens here day just a little! Hang in there Kelli ~ you have a wonderful family and their many friends rooting for you!

With all that said this weeks challenge is about making a card but using your own background! I LOVE this idea! So I looked through my stash of Peachy Keen Stamps and came across the stamp set ~ Flower Centers. I think these stamps are from my VERY first order from PKS! I have to admit I don't think I have EVER used them before today. After today ~ I know I will be using them more often! So I decided for my background I would just stamp the circles just randomly using my Versa mark ink ~ so I could heat emboss them. I used all Stampin Up ink. Since it is Spring I decided to use the Funny Flowers Die! It  always puts a smile on my face when I see them! Well I decided I was going to cut it out twice in white and once in purple. On the white cuts I  stamped some circles using the same Flower Centers stamps on this flower! Then paper pieced them alternating them and curling some of the petals so you can see the purple too. I use My Creative Time Teeny Tag Greetings Stamp Set. ~ just to remind her to keep smiling! I covered a lollipop stick with some twine and added my big green bow. I wanted it to look like the leaves. Not sure if it does or not ~ you be the judge! LOL! Well I think that is it for the card! I actually like how this turned out! I hope Kelli does too!
