"Team Purple" ~ Poster Boards

Today I am going to share with you what I have been working on for my sweet, courageous and young friend Miss Hannah! I usually refer to her as Miss "H" but today you will actually see her name. She just happens to be the daughter of my son's kindergarten teacher ~ Mrs. Smith. Hannah is a young lady fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She went thru 6 weeks of chemotherapy, the last 3 were VERY aggressive, and 14 radiation treatments. Hannah has since completed here treatments and we are waiting for ALL the results. She was a trooper through it all. Always thought of others, kept her grades up and NEVER, NEVER complained. But during this time her sister, Leah age 12, NEVER, NEVER left her side!

So Hannah has done The Relay for Life for a friend of hers who lost her sister just a few years back. But Hannah's sister Leah wanted to form a team for her sister. Even thought Leah LOVES the color pink she decided to make her team "Team Purple" for Hannah. My goodness the tears are just flowing from my eyes just writing this ~ seriously! So with all this said and it was sort of a last minute decision, I couldn't let Leah's not have a sign for the  team. These two young ladies taught me so much. A SISTERS LOVE IS EVER LASTING ~ THROUGH THE GOOD AND BAD TIMES ~ YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON YOUR SISTER! ALWAYS!

Onto my signs. The first poster is just a REAL simple poster. My idea was for it to be a chalkboard ~ where EVERYONE to could sign it and encourage Hannah, wish her warm wishes or just be silly! My son's whole class signed it before Hannah and Leah got to see the poster. I used foam boards 3/16 inch thick. I went to Lowe's and bought 1/4' x 1 1/2' x 2" wood so my WONDERFUL husband can screw through the foam boards & wood to make them like a picket sign. He ended up cutting the screws off in the back so no one would injury themselves on the sharp ends. Sharpie makes poster-paint pens that work PERFECTLY. Of course they are white ~ sort of like Sakura gel pens. I couldn't resist on adding  My Creative Times Rolled Flowers  ALL around the heart! I seriously did ALL of these and more in one evening! That is how quick, easy and wonderful these flower dies are! I left the center of the heart empty. Why you may ask. I wanted the family to decide what they wanted to do. I gave them some ideas for that. I told them they could let only the family sign, the team sign, add a family picture or add a picture of Hannah and Leah. Whatever they wanted to do! To be honest I have no idea what they chose. When we got there we were to busy running around doing all the activities at all the tents! LOL! I was such a GREAT charity event and met so many wonderful survivor's and families! My son just had a BLAST!

Okay for my next poster I wanted to make it FUN, BUSY, BLINGED OUT and TOTALLY NOTICEABLE on the track! Well let me just say ~ the team stood out!! LOL! Hannah, Leah and the poster made the local paper! Yeah girls! I used a white foam board for this but added 2 different shades of purple to it. This took me FOREVER to do trying to line the papers PERFECTLY!  Then I just went to town on the papers, the glitter stars, the deep purple ribbon, stickles anything to make "Team Purple" SHINE!

These were so DIFFICULT to photograph! In the shade it wouldn't capture the purples right! But the pictures in sun ~ too bright! Anyway the girls LOVED them and that is ALL that mattered to me! I was so out of my normal comfort zone ~ especially using the color PURPLE! I am so blessed to have these to young ladies in my families life! They really are wonderful, Thankful, well mannered young ladies. Their LOVE for each other so reminds me of me and my sister ~ just PRECIOUS!
