Happy Halloween!!

Good morning and Happy Halloween! Before I go on I just want to say that I am thinking and praying for ALL those affected by hurricane Sandy. Watching the news coverage, hearing the stories and seeing the images just totally makes my heart so sad!! We were fortunate and so very grateful for no damage here.

Today is 3~D Wednesday over at My Creative Time ~ it's all about 3~D cards. So head on over and check out all the inspiration from Emma and the design team!

Okay I will try to make this post short & sweet with all materials listed below. I have been busy the past few days wickedly try to make some treats for my son's class and ALL the staff that helps with his education on a daily basis. I try to leave no one out that he sees ~ so not only the teachers, the administration but his bus driver and Mr. Jim, the custodian, gets a little treat!

So with all that said I decided to make sour cream containers. I wanted to use up some old Halloween paper packs from last year ~ I got on clearance! So I pulled them out and just cut away! I cut the papers at 7 x 6 3/4. I wanted them big so I can stuff them with little candy bars. All stamps and die are from My Creative Time! I did use some Stampin Up and Martha Stewart punches. Added a little stickles and ribbon from the dollar bin! Sorry for the poor quality pictures but I was snapping them at 2 something in the morning!! Not like waiting to the last minute!!!

These treats are for the adults, some family and friends.

These are for my son's friends at school! I didn't go to crazy with these ~ kids only want the candy!! LOL!

I am in charge the class craft for his rooms party! So I cut out ghosts with my Cricut! Yes ~ I used the Cricut! Hey it was already dusted off from last week! These are the samples I will show the kids of what I had in mind but they can do what they want with them!

They only have about 10 to 15 minutes to do their little craft, so I had to have everything prepped and ready to go! I did cut out over 200 bows just in case they want to go bow crazy. Obviously the middle one is a sample for the boys. I will have them draw a mouth on them if they choose to! I would like to see a Peachy Keen Stamp on them but there is not enough time for them to do that! Sad face!

This is how I will keep them organized for the party! I will have little helpers passing the cuts out. I did use Zots for the googly eyes!. They can use their glue sticks to apply the bows and sentiments!

Materials Used For the Sour Cream Containers

Okay that is it for today! I have been a little busy doing these but I promise to be around later to see what you all have been up too this week!

"Show Me Your Technique"

Hello! Welcome to another "Show Me Your Technique" ! Every Tuesday 3 or 4 My Creative Time design team members will have a little hop sharing some techniques with you.  You should have arrived from the talented Jeanne's blog. If not you can either head on over to Emma's blog, click here or click on the links below!

Mini blog hop line up:

Me

Warning picture heavy and long post!!!!

So for my technique today I want to show you what you can do with a cheap & dollar fame you can get at any local crafting store! This is my first time trying it this way and to be honest I actually LOVE how this turned out!  First get a cheap frame.

Spray paint it with Krylon paint, this can be bought at M's. I used flat white paint for my frame. Wait for it to dry ~ you all no it was very hard for me to do this!

After the paint dries apply Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint. I chose to use the "clear" paint. Wait for that to dry! Lots of waiting right!

I took a look at my frame and thought this doesn't have enough cracks in it so I added another coat of the TH Distress crackle paint ~ clear. You can also use a heat gun once you see the cracks start but I chose to wait ~ believe it or not! Here is what you get.

A close up! I am very sorry for the poor quality pictures but my lighting issues continue!!

Oh wait the sun came out before the next step! So after everything is dried and the desired crackle look ~ here is where the fun begins. I used the Tim Holtz distress inks and just inked away!!

Here it is with ALL the inking! Now I will say this, if you use black or white you will probably have to use Modge Podge to seal it. But for some reason with the clear I didn't have too.

Here is the finished project. I am sure you are saying that tree scene looks familiar. Well it is sort of because I did something similar a few posts back. Click here for the details on how to create this scene ~ scroll down to the bottom of the post. My sister loved the card I made and said she wanted it for Christmas. Well I decided to make a new one so it fits in the frame better. I hope you enjoyed Glora's, Jeanne's and my techniques for today and inspired you to try one or all of them! Thanks for your patience for this SUPER picture heavy and long post!!

I did add a piece of acetate to protect the little scene so the picture was very hard to take without a glare! My sentiment is from the My Creative Time stamp set  "Gift Card Sentiments" using the "Stitched Oval Die" on Balsa wood. Added a some ribbon from my stash.

Scrappy Monday with My Creative Time

Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today is My Creative Time's Scrappy Monday with Emma and the design Team! This is in hopes we get caught up on our layouts and to encourage you all to do the same! I still LOVE this idea!!

This week we were asked to create a layout based on a letter! For example I chose the letter "P" . So my "P" words that I chose to add to my layout is pictures ( lots of them), the Polaroid die, pumpkin patch( that is where these pictures were taken back in 2006), pumpkin paper & pumpkins, plaid paper, I matted one of the pictures on wood "planks", I used the pocket die for a "pile" of leaves, trimmed my pictures with "purple" hemp and punched out this cute little picket fence.  Also some of my stamps I used started with the letter "P" too! I know these picture are looking familiar to you all but I have about another 30 more to scrap from this day because this was such a "perfect" day to capture our "precious" little boy! Sorry can't stop with the letter "P" ! LOL

You may have noticed my little layout out holder. Well my sweet friend and fellow design team sister Shar is selling these in her Etsy shop! Click here to check it out! They hold up to 12 x 12 layouts. I have to say not only is this wonderful to take pictures of you layouts but it is a FABULOUS display too! My son is TOTALLY enjoying this too because I will leave this LO hanging on here until I do my next one. I totally love it because he asks questions about the picture and why, where and what we were doing!

Materials Used:

My Creative Time ~ "Piles Of Smile" ~ all sentiments & stamps used, pumpkins, leaves
My Creative Time ~ "Fun Pockets" ~ pocket die
My Creative Time ~ "Just Simply Live" ~ Polaroid die & tag

My Creative Time 3~ D Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! Today is 3~D Wednesday with Emma and the design team over at My Creative Time! This week were were asked to create a 3~D project but it must be an ornament! Easy right! I actually had a few ideas and hopefully I can do some of them around Christmas time ~ fingers crossed!

So I decided to use these glass ornaments I purchased on sale last year at Michael's. I have a ton of them because they were on sale! LOL! So I punched out 2 circles with my Stampin Up 2 1/2 circle punch! I used the ADORABLE  snowman image from the "All Around Accessories" . I just colored him with my Copics and did a little sakura jelly pen. On the other circle I stamped the sentiment from "It's A Magical Season"  and added a little stitching! Then I adhered these 2 circles together. I then rolled the circles with my sakura pen and slipped it through the opening of the glass ornament. Now mind you I used PTI white paper! It is thick by it's self but add two pieces together ~ WOW!! Talk about a challenge!! I wanted to do 2 circles just in case the ornament happens to turn ~ I didn't want to see the Copic bleed thru the back. After you get the image inside you have to CAREFULLY use tweezers to unfold the roll. I was sweating doing this part!  You may have some wrinkles but that is okay ~ there are no mistakes in paper crafting Right?? LOVE when Emma says that. Anyway I  added some Martha Stewart tinsel glitter to give the snow affect! My ornament is one of the flat ones too! I used my May Arts ribbon for my bow! I must say taking this picture proved to be VERY challenging! Not only because of the clear glass but the ornament kept moving! After I took about 70 pictures ( no lie here) I realized my ribbon on the second picture  was messed up. No worries I did change it!

Well that is it for me today so head on over to My Creative Time and see what the other talented design team did too! I am sure you will LOVE  what you see!

Happy Monday!!! Today is "Scrapping The Little Things" over at Emma's blog at My Creative Time . This is were they will be doing Project Life kind of layouts or Smashbooks. Head on over and get some inspiration and awesome ideas!

So I have been wanting to make this little birdie/ghost for ages! I have seen so many of you make him or her and I just couldn't take it anymore! I have NEVER used this cartridge before but I have to say it really has some CUTE images on it! I knew what sentiments I wanted to use before I even cut him out! I LOVE Emma from My Creative Time new stamp set "Treats For My Sweet" . This stamp set has such WONDERFUL images and sentiments on it! So my little ghost had to say "Just say BOO". Then I looked at my little bag and it needed some cute little phrase. So I looked thru all of my MCT stamps set and realized I really needed to use the "All Around Halloween" stamps set. So I masked off each word so it would fit on his little treat bag! I think it turned out CUTE!! My paper is from DCWV ~ Bewitched and Paper Trey Ink. My ribbon is either from Joann's or Michael's! The obsession with ribbon continues!!!

Something really simple and quick to make!

Halloween Blog Hop with My Creative Time ~ Day #1

Welcome to My Creative Time  Halloween 2 Day Blog Hop!! This is day #1. Not only are you going to see some amazing creations but Emma is having a SALE ~ yes I said sale!! Yeah! You should have arrived from the very talented Katie's blog. I am last up for today but just in case you just stumbled on over you may want to start from the beginning over at Emma's blog. Click here. I promise to make this short and sweet for you all today!

For my project I wanted to alter my topiary tree I have had since the beginning of this year! My intentions was to make something for my sisters bedroom but that never happened! Sorry Nicolle! So after knocking off some spider webs (seriously it was already for Halloween) I decided to spray paint it! I used some Krylon spray paint (Thanks Shar) I got at Micheal's! Originally this topiary tree was green but I wanted to make it Halloweenish so I painted it black! While waiting for the paint to dry ~ hehehe we all know that almost drove me nuts ~ I just started die cutting Emma's "Rolled Flower Dies" .  I only used the one style but either one would have worked ~ your choice. I did this seriously in about 20 minutes tops! Once the tree is dry ~ I just hot glued the flowers on the tree. Easy right! My paper is from Paper Trey Ink. I then decided I wanted to use the "Just Tag Stamp & Dies" and  "Just For You" stamp set. I just LOVE this Halloween sentiment! I decided to heat emboss it to give it a little shine too! Added some seam ribbon to the tag, buttons to my little pot and a big ole bow! That's it for me! Quick, simple and not over the top hard at all!

Bear Card

Good morning ~ Happy Tuesday! So Emma from My Creative Time  just came out with this ADORABLE stamp set called "Beary Special Thoughts" and I have to say ~ I just fell in LOVE with it! It has the CUTEST bear images and sentiments! Like I said in a previous post ~ this is what a Teddy Bear looks like to me! Well I couldn't help but to try and color him! I used my Copics for this! What  a learning process those babies are! But practice, practice practice! Hey my son likes it because I stayed inside the lines! LOL. Any way I ran my background paper with an embossing folder and then the smaller brown strip with a coordinating folder. I used some hemp and these cute little wood veneer frames from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique! If you haven't been over to her store you must! She has such wonderful products!!! Something real quick and simple so a friend knows that I will be be there for them if they need me!

Sorry for the picture ~ it was a "Beary" sunny day when I took this!

My Creative Time ~ Scrappy Monday

Good morning and welcome to My Creative Time "Scrappy Monday" ! Today we will be sharing you layouts that are Thanksgiving or Fall related. Emma started this in hope that we all get back to keeping up with our scrapbooks. Make sure you head over to her blog, click here, and see what these very talented ladies have created!

For my layout I decided to pull out some pictures that were taken of my son in 2006! We were visiting my sister in New Jersey and decided to take my son to his 1st pumpkin patch. We were also looking for pictures to send out for our Christmas cards. Needless we took so many pictures that day! You will see those at a later time. The pictures I scrapped today are of him enjoying some beautiful Fall flowers and this little wagon! He fell in love with the flowers and this wagon. Sit down for this one ~ I used my Cricut again!!!  I cut my wagon at 5 inches. I chose not to cut out the wheels for the wagon because Emma's circle die from the "Scallop &  Stitched Circle Die was the PERFECT fit! Best of all it comes with her signature stitching. I used this awesome paper from Joann's that has such a wonderful shine to it! Expensive ~ yes about $2 dollars a sheet! YIKES but so worth it! I just cut out 1 inch strips for my wagon and inked the edges. I added some brads for nails. Since I have 4 x 6 pictures so in order for those size pictures to fit on my 12 x 12 paper I chose to cut off part of the wheels for the wagon. I lined the top of the wagon and around some of my pictures with raffia for the straw affect. I used Emma's "Piles Of Smiles" stamp set for my sentiment and the leaf dies to add that perfect touch! Click here to see how I made my sunflower using Emma's dies! My little tag with the date is from the stamp set "Just Simply Live" . I have to say this is another MUST have set!

I totally love it because he asks questions about the picture and why, where and what we were doing!

My Creative Time ~ 3~D Wednesday

Happy hump day everyone! I am so excited for today because it is 3D Wednesday over on Emma's blog, My Creative Time! Today the designers were asked to make a home decor 3~D project! Well with the up coming holiday ~ Halloween ~ I wanted to share with you all my frame I made!!

I bought this frame years ago and never put any picture in it! Surprised ~ not me! Believe it or not I don't have a lot of pictures in my house! Why you ask because I hate to dust them! Horrible I know! I have some but very little! But I am going to change that!

So I took my frame and sanded it just a tad. I added Tim Holtz distress crackle paint! Note: read instructions first! I chose not too but I highly recommend doing so! After it crackled a little bit, again read the instructions, it seemed to peel off. Maybe because I used a frame that had a gloss to it or the fact I am VERY impatient??? I so don't like to wait for things to dry! Anyway I didn't want it to peal ( create a mess and dust) so I pulled out Modge Podge and coated it twice. As you can see it really didn't crackle but that is okay because to be honest I just wanted it to look distressed and not crackled! You know the MESSY look! While the Modge Podge was drying ( 2 coats and NO I didn't wait for that to dry either ~ LOL) I decided to start getting everything else ready! I took some MME Mischievous paper and adhered it to the matte. Then looked through my stamps and I just couldn't resist using the Emma's newest Halloween stamp set, "Treats For My Sweet" . It seriously has such FABULOUS sentiments and images! I am slightly obsessed with the spider webs ~ hehehe! So I heat embossed the webs and cut the out! Cut them in half so I could place them in the corners. Then I stamped the sentiment, from this set, "Happy Halloween" and just added some bats! Then my new favorite sentiment, okay they ALL are my favorite ~ who am I kidding ~ is from "Just For You" . I just layered this on coordinating papers added my FAVORITE SU ribbon EVER!!! So sad they are no longer making this! That's it! Something very simple, fun and quick( if you are like me who doesn't wait) to add too your decor of your home for the holiday!!!

So head over to Emma's blog, My Creative Time, to see what my fellow design sisters have created for you!! I am sure you won't be disappointed!! I know I know I never am! I also have to say ~ after 2 years I still get so excited to see what you all create!! Thanks for sharing all your AMAZING and FABULOUS creations!!

Peachy Keen Challenge ~ 38:: Anything Goes

Good afternoon! This week Peachy Keen Challenge is having an "Anything Goes" Challenge! Woo Hoo!  I decided to make this real quick and easy little pillow box for my son's lunch! He is in 1st grade and ALL week they are having OLSAT test ( whatever that means) and they do nothing but tests! So I wanted to send in some treats starting tomorrow in his lunch! He rarely gets "junk" food in his lunch but I thought this week might be a good week to give him some!

So I used this pre-made craft pillow box and used this ADORABLE little set called "Sandwich Fun" . It is just PERFECT for little treats in his lunch! Kraft was a perfect choice since he LOVES whole wheat bread too! So I stamped and masked off the slices of bread. Added these CUTE little faces, did a little doodling and used the sentiment that comes with this set! I did tape off portions of the sentiment so it could be separated!  Simple, quick and fun to make!! I have to say this stamps set is so CUTE!!

"Show Me Your Technique"

Happy Tuesday! Today is "Show Me Your Technique" over at My Creative Time! Emma has three very creative and talented designer's up today! Head on over to their blogs!!! The mini hop begins with:

Peachy Keen October Release Challenges

Hello everyone! On Friday Peachy Keen Stamps had their release party unfortunately I missed most of the party! Oh my the CUTENESS that I saw last week was just incredible!!!! So I thought I would play along on both of the challenges!

Peachy Party October Challenge #1

For the first challenge Miss Amy is the host! She called it a 3-2-1 challenge! You must use 3 buttons, 2 pattern papers and 1 bow! So I pulled out "Fall Blessings Acorns" stamp set and my "PKS Pumpkin House" die. I just wanted to use the pumpkin! So I stamped the leaves and the placed my pumpkin on top of them! I think this is the first time I am using either one of these even though I have had them since last year! Well I must say I LOVE them both! I just stamped my sentiment ~ from the "Fall Blessings Acorns" ~ which is perfect for the theme of my card! Colored my leaves with some Copics and added my ribbon!

Sorry for the pictures but we didn't have any sun for the past 2 days here! So my attempt to take pictures indoors really doesn't show off the paper or inks!

Peachy Party October Challenge #2

For my second card the challenge is by Miss Raven! She asked us to use any PKS background! Love this challenge too because I got to use my "PKS Cloudy Day" stamp! I decided to use my SU Basic Gray ink  to attempt to make it look a little spooky! Not sure that you can see it since I used my Nesties to make my card! Or the fact my lighting wasn't the best! Anyway since I am a die girl ~ the "PKS Fuzzy Spider" die ~ which I LOVE this little guy ~ had to be used! I just added a little detail with the Sakura pen and colored the little boots with some Copics! My sentiment is from My Creative Time "Treats For My Sweet".

Okay that is it for today I also would like to remind every that it is "Scrapping The Little Things" over at Emma's blog at My Creative Time! The ladies did an AMAZING job like always!!!

Baseball Tag

Happy Friday!! I hope you all have big plans this weekend! So far we having nothing to exciting happening but that could all change! Anyway I just wanted to share a real simple and quick tag I made using Emma from My Creative Time  "Tag Dies" ! Long story short we bought my son a bag to hold his bat, some baseballs , glove and helmet. Some how someway someone seems to have walked off with it! I am NOT saying it was stolen but it has yet to be returned! A great deal of his baseball team has the same bag. No biggy but foolish us ( ME) didn't have his name on it! I went and bought him a new one and insisted he has his name on it!

So I pulled out Emma's "Tag Dies" and ran that through my Big Shot twice so I could have two. I wanted this tag to be seen on both sides and show off her signature stitching and these wonderful images ~ oh an my son's name! LOL!! Then I pulled out some of her AWESOME stamp sets that SCREAM baseball and sports! Emma's "Sport Sentiments" and "Grand Slam" work fabulously and I just went to town! I picked the images and sentiments that I liked and fit my son! I then decided to pull out one of my FAVORITES of Emma's stamps, "Anyday Bingo & Crossword" for his name! How about these little letters fit PERFECTLY in the baseball image! I can't tell you how excited I was when I realized this! I also decided to just use black and red ink! In the Spring time he was on Team Black and for Fall ball he is on Team Red! So these colors work fit both of his teams. I then just used ATG tape and adhered them together. I wanted to laminate it so it would hold up to the weather and his little hands. I used a ring for keys so we could attach it to his zipper on his bag. I did add ribbon for the picture but unfortunately he did not want the ribbon on his bag! His tag his bag and his choice!!

The other side of the tag.

Well that is it for me today! I hope you enjoy your weekend and Thank You for always stopping by and leaving such wonderful comments!!!

My Creative Time ~ "Designer's Challenge" ~ Googly Eyes!

Happy Thursday everyone! I am sorry for such a late post but time has NOT been on my side lately! I have seen so many of you say the exact same thing! I guess we are all in the same boat here!

Anyway I made this card over the weekend and I am just getting to post this! I decided to play along with My Creative Time  ~Designer's Challenge. It is hosted by a sweet friend and fellow MCT dt sister Miss Tracy! She has asked us to use googly eyes on our projects! How fun is that! All you have to do is add googly eyes and  link it up over at Emma's blog. Click here and come play along!

So I started playing with the Emma's new "Just Tags" dies. I thought hey I want to make a Frankenstein with it! So I just die cut the top layer in green and  the bottom layer in black. I used the tag die from the "Just Simply Live" set for his little knobs and added some stickles. For his hair I just added some burlap from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique. But I wanted him to have a little hat so I pulled out my die from the "Here's Lookin' At You" stamp set and added UTEE to it for some shine! TOTALLY forgetting to add the cute little piece for the hat! Dang! My cute little flower also came from Liz's boutique too! My little face is from Peachy Keen Stamps ( I masked the eyes and nose so I could just use the mouth) from "Monster Mash Face Assortment" . I heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set "Treats For My Sweet".  My paper is form Paper Trey Ink and DCWV ~ "The Bewitched" matstack. What a fun paper pack! Last but not least Googly eyes!! What a fun challenge Tracy!!!

Okay so head on over to My Creative Time, click here, and play along with us on the Designer's Challenge!

Also while you are there check out the AWESOME techniques from the mini blog hop for the "Show Me Your Technique"

Okay one more thing before you go 3D Wednesday! Sorry for ALL this but HONESTLY I don't want you to miss anything that is going on over there! It is just jaw dropping! I am so inspired from this whole week from these VERY creative and talented women! WOW!!

My Creative Time "Scrappy Monday"

I hope you all had a great weekend! Well today is "Scrappy Monday" over at My Creative Time with Emma and the design team! This week were asked to do a Halloween layout. I am so excited because I did my son's first Halloween layout last week and this week is just the beginning of his second Halloween. Well let me say I did not get good pictures of him in his costume ~ I think it had to do with the fact he was walking and NEVER stood still! But that is okay because I still cherish the costume and that day!

So the picture I chose to scrap is my son eating something he has NEVER had before at my mother-in-laws house! Since he was just over a year old we started feeding him normal food! Well this picture says it all ~ his little lips are sealed shut! LOL! Since I had my Cricut dusted off and the Gyspy was still in hands reach I decided to use it again! Wow ~ I know right! I decided to use the little pumpkin from Mini Monsters. Even though I hid some features I did cut out all the features. I was hoping that my picture would fit inside the mouth of this CUTE little pumpkin but it didn't. Never worry I just cut out another pumpkin and gave it to my son so he can play with it! Nothing goes to waste in this house! He likes mom's mistakes!

So I decided to use some new and old My Creative Time stamps and dies. I pulled out the "All Around Halloween" stamp set. It had the PERFECT little sentiments. I have wanted to use the CUTE little ghost from"Anyday Bingo & Crossword" forever! So I put him on the little stitched circle die from the "Build A Banner Kit" and placed it on the "Scallop & Stitched Circle" dies! Of course I couldn't help but use the new Halloween stamps from "Treats For My Sweet".  I added some glossy accents to my little candy ~ sort of hard to tell! I used the "Card Sentiments" die and sentiment. I have to admit I TOTALLY forgot to not attach this so I can journal on it! But that is okay my next layout will have a ton of pictures and tags to journal this day! Last but not least I had to use Liz's Paper Loft Boutique jute for my little bow! All my paper is a mixture of Stampin Up, Paper Trey Ink and K & Company.

I have to say Emma's stamps are just PERFECT for layouts! I seem to go crazy with them but everything just seems to fit what I want to say! So head on over to Emma's blog and see what the super talented ladies have in store for you today! We truly hope this helps everyone back into doing their scrapbooks again!

Have a GREAT day!
