My Creative Time ~ 3~D Wednesday

Happy hump day everyone! I am so excited for today because it is 3D Wednesday over on Emma's blog, My Creative Time! Today the designers were asked to make a home decor 3~D project! Well with the up coming holiday ~ Halloween ~ I wanted to share with you all my frame I made!!

I bought this frame years ago and never put any picture in it! Surprised ~ not me! Believe it or not I don't have a lot of pictures in my house! Why you ask because I hate to dust them! Horrible I know! I have some but very little! But I am going to change that!

So I took my frame and sanded it just a tad. I added Tim Holtz distress crackle paint! Note: read instructions first! I chose not too but I highly recommend doing so! After it crackled a little bit, again read the instructions, it seemed to peel off. Maybe because I used a frame that had a gloss to it or the fact I am VERY impatient??? I so don't like to wait for things to dry! Anyway I didn't want it to peal ( create a mess and dust) so I pulled out Modge Podge and coated it twice. As you can see it really didn't crackle but that is okay because to be honest I just wanted it to look distressed and not crackled! You know the MESSY look! While the Modge Podge was drying ( 2 coats and NO I didn't wait for that to dry either ~ LOL) I decided to start getting everything else ready! I took some MME Mischievous paper and adhered it to the matte. Then looked through my stamps and I just couldn't resist using the Emma's newest Halloween stamp set, "Treats For My Sweet" . It seriously has such FABULOUS sentiments and images! I am slightly obsessed with the spider webs ~ hehehe! So I heat embossed the webs and cut the out! Cut them in half so I could place them in the corners. Then I stamped the sentiment, from this set, "Happy Halloween" and just added some bats! Then my new favorite sentiment, okay they ALL are my favorite ~ who am I kidding ~ is from "Just For You" . I just layered this on coordinating papers added my FAVORITE SU ribbon EVER!!! So sad they are no longer making this! That's it! Something very simple, fun and quick( if you are like me who doesn't wait) to add too your decor of your home for the holiday!!!

So head over to Emma's blog, My Creative Time, to see what my fellow design sisters have created for you!! I am sure you won't be disappointed!! I know I know I never am! I also have to say ~ after 2 years I still get so excited to see what you all create!! Thanks for sharing all your AMAZING and FABULOUS creations!!

  18. Oh Kim, you always bring a smile to my face, I so love to read your posts..And LOVE to see what you gave created.. This turned out just FABULOUS. The ribbon is so perfect...LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
lol...I am the same way about waiting for things to dry. I actually had a few minutes that I was able to try to make something, I was putting glossy accents on something but wanted to see how it was going to look so I "carefully" moved it onto my project and it fell with the glossy side on my project.. :-( so I am going to have to cut another one out..
