My Creative Time 3~D Wednesday ~ Recycle

Good morning and welcome to My Creative Time's 3~D Wednesday! Emma has asked the design team to make a project out of something that we would usually toss ~ for example packaging, tags, string or elastic, bread ties toilet/ towels rolls ~ you get the idea. Fun right?? Well if you are anything like me I have a box ( HUGE by the way) full of stuff. Guess that is the hoarder in me! You never know when you can recycle something and make it your own!
Well I rummaged through that box and found this Stampin Up container that the wood blocks came in from their stamps. Note ~ had to take the wood blocks out of this container! LOL!! I really like these containers and actually forgot I had them ~ no surprise to me at all! This container measures 4 1/2 by 5 1/4. Now this container isn't quite perfectly clear but I fixed that issue. I decided to stamp the "Love Collage" background stamp on some acetate ~ which was a piece of scrap. I adhered it with some glue dots. Then found some ribbon I had left over from Christmas ( scraps again) and tied my bow. But then I was a tad stumped on what to do next! I didn't want use anything too big! Well then I remember my fellow DT sister and friend, Ruthie from September Ninth, did a video on Shrinky Dinks! Click here to see this AWESOME video. I thought I can make little charms using Emma's dies and stamps! I must say this was so fun! Even my son and husband had fun watching the process! Note ~ never do this in front of a child ~ they want you to shrink EVERYTHING!! LOL But it was fun to watch his face as I did this fun technique! I used all sorts of MCT stamps & dies for my charms and will list them below. I also have some pictures of what the tag looked like before I shrunk it ~ so fun! I just wanted to make something fun and different for my little project. I must admit these did not come out perfect but let me just say LOVE is not perfect and the recipient will still love the gift.

Okay here its the container before. I had to use a black background so you could see it. See how it isn't perfectly clear.

This is a picture of the tag (left) before the fun begins. Then on the right ~ the after ~ CUTE right?? Again very hard to take pictures of this because of the white and lights.

The final product! I really like making charms ~ I think it adds something different to a project, card or better yet a layout! Emma's stamps are PERFECT for this too! To get the hearts and "Vintage Stitched Label Die" to adhere together I used Glossy Accents and a clothes pin. Let it dry over night , it will work perfectly! My Little hemp to tie the charms to the bow is a piece of scrap ( see I save EVERYTHING) from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique ~ love that stuff too! I stuffed this little container with Fire Ball candies ~  you know ~ the HOT kind of LOVE!! Corny ~ yes but I know someone who just LOVE these and will find this funny.
