MCT ~ Designers Challenge

Good morning! I hope you all are enjoying your week! I am so happy today is Thursday for many reasons! One being tomorrow is Friday ~ yeah and the other is that there is a new Designer's Challenge over at My Creative Time. This time it is hosted by our very own talented and creative Miss Katie! She has asked all of us to create Winter Holiday Tags! I love this time of year but always feel so rushed to get things done. So starting some of my Holiday tags now really helps me out! Click here for all the details.

So I found this deer image one a Cricut cartridge! Yes ~ I know that poor machine has so much dust on it! But like I say all the time I am a die girl here! I found this particular cut off the "Going Places" cartridge! Yes, I typed that correctly! I found it a few years back and really fell in LOVE with it! I thought I would use the same tag, the same cut but show you how totally different they could look.

We hope you all join us in this challenge! Let's get ready for the Holiday season together!

For my first tag I wanted to go more rustic/vintage?? Not sure of the word I really want to use! But I wanted to make my deer out of pattern paper! My scallop tag is from Emma's "Tag Dies" . These tags come in handy for so many things. I decided to use the "Script Type Background" stamps to add just a subtle detail to my paper! I LOVE the script on this stamp ~ I use it as often as I can. I heat embossed my sentiment. I LOVE the feel and look of heat embossing my sentiments. Just to add a little more to my sentiment I decided to use one of the many awesome images from the new stamp set "Build A Post Card" . That stamp set has endless possibilities! I like that this tag is designed sideways ~ sometimes on packages/gifts they look better facing this direction.

Materials Used:
Going Places Cartridge
Paper ~ PTI and MME (Traveler)
Ink ~ PTI, Vera Mark and Tim Holtz
Ribbon (??) and hemp PTI
Clear Embossing powder
Brad and jingle bells from my stash

For this tag I used the same scallop tag & again same Cricut cut for the deer. I just made it face the opposite direction and made this a little traditional! I used UTEE, chalk ink, chunky glitter and glossy accents to form my snow. I love how this feels and no glitter falls off either!

  6. I like the 3D the layers make for the dear deer cuts...another cart I don't have but I must have a similar deer cut in an SVG or another cartridge. I like how both tags look so different! Great job!

  11. Fantastic tags! I love the two different looks you got by changing things up on each one. Who would have thought you'd find that cute deer on Going Places. I always get so excited when I find something unexpected on a cartridge I haven't used in awhile.
