MCT ~ Thrifty Thursday

Good morning! Today is Thrifty Thursday over at My Creative Time with Emma and the design team. This is when we try our hardest to use scraps, recycled items and any leftovers we have for our projects! Well as I always say, I have tons of scraps. I seem to save the tiniest piece of paper. I try to rummage thru my file folder container, each folder is marked by color that holds my PTI card stock.  I keep this under my desk, at arms reach. I also have a Snap album, that I bought on sale along with the clear plastic sleeves. I keep my extra die cuts in. See, I cut a ton of die cuts out when I use my MCT products. I like to see them in various colors. I even will cut our extra banners, tags, journal dies, pretty much everything.
So today I went thru my die cut scrap album and found a few pieces that I thought might look nice with some washi tape in my stash. See I have washi tape I never seem to remember to use, so I grabbed a piece of scrap paper that I didn't like the stamping and covered the back of it with washi tape. Then die cut out the washi like die. I seriously love doing this and need to do it more often.
Here is a picture of my scrap storage.

Onto my project now, sorry if I bored you all but I thought I would share how I store my scraps and extra die cuts.
So for my base, I used the other side of yet another stamping gone wrong project. See I save EVERYTHING! LOL!  All of my pieces I used for my card today, besides my base, either was a stamping gone wrong scrap or extra die cut from my album. LOVE using up my scraps!
Materials Used:
Paper ~ PTI
Ink ~ Stampin Up
MME Washi Tape

Simple and easy card to whip together even if you don't have all the die cuts already cut out. Also may I note ~ there is NO ribbon on my card!! EEK ~ I have gone mad here!

Head on over to Emma's blog to see what they amazing ladies have done.
Also don't forget we still have a Designer Challenge going on. Click here for all the details.
Don't forget we will all be back tomorrow for some AMAZING projects for the Head of The Class Blog Hop! I'm so excited for you all to see too!

  5. Wow lady - what a bright, happy card all created with things "gone wrong"! I guess in your case 2 (or 3 or 4) wrongs DO make a right...lol! This really is a gorgeous card with one of my all time favorite color combos. I love your idea for storing extra die cuts and really need to "borrow" your method. My current method is throw 'em in the corner of desk somewhere and maybe one day I will use them. Your plan is much better! Hope you have a wonderful day my sweet friend!

I just put everything in a 12x12 bag.Should find something else...way to many scraps in there, and when i need something special,i can hardly find it!! But i do keep the smallest scraps.White the most though, for sentiments or die cuts.
