My Creative Time ~ "Scrappy Monday"

Good morning! Today is "Scrappy Monday" over at My Creative Time. Emma is encouraging ALL of us to do more layouts! I am beyond thrilled for this and so is my husband! Emma already knows this because I tell her ever chance I get how happy my husband and son are when I get another page done. Even though I am not the best at layouts ~ I encourage ALL you to do them as well! There is nothing like documenting those precious memories in our lives! Thanks Emma!

So for my layout today I chose to go back when we first brought our son home from the hospital. These pictures are of my Dad and son on his first day home. Seeing the joy and love in my Dad's eye just brings back such wonderful memories. He adored my son more than anything in the world! I can remember when he was holding him ~ saying to myself take pictures of his hands. I never wanted to forget my Dad's hands holding my son. I am so glad I did! That is why I called this page "Hands Of Love". I used Emma's "Fancy Frame Stamp & Die Set"  for the "of" part of my title. What I used to journal is actually from Emma's new release. It is the 3x3 tri~fold card that comes with the "Card Sentiments". I LOVE how long it is and I think it is PERFECT for journaling. The lines I used are from the clipboard from "Honey Do List" . Of course I had to use my favorites (well actually they ALL are ~ hehehe) The "Build A Banner Kit" and "Anyday Bingo and Crosswords Stamp Set" !  I couldn't help but to use the stitched heart and XOXO from "100% Sweetness" either! The punch of red broke up all the guys colors. Last but not least I decided to use the tape die from Emma's "Just Simply Live". This set not only comes with a Polaroid die and wonderful sayings but it has the BEST little letters and numbers ever! I can see me using these for TONS of things!

A few more things I wanted to add about my layout.  The buttons used today are from my Grandma's button drawer.I think she had well over 1,000 buttons!  So my Dad's Mom is part of this special page. I also encourage anybody with a newborn or young children or actually at any age to take pictures of the hands of loving family members. You make think it is crazy but when they are no longer here ~ it is so nice to see and remember their hands. Also ALWAYS journal using your handwriting! Someday your children, their children and so on might just wonder what it looked like. I do not care for mine but I will continue to add it as much as possible. The rest of my materials use I will add at the bottom of my picture!

  17. Most importantly remember to take the pictures and many...with our phones today I should not have any excuse for no pictures other than I forgot. You are right about the hands and I love the one touching the baby's hands...hard to believe they were that little :D I also don't like my handwriting but will try to put some here and there. I have so much to catch up on :( Glad Emma has started this. Great layout!
