MCT ~ Try Me Tuesday

Good morning! Today is Try Me Tuesday over at My Creative Time with Emma and the ladies!
Today we will be showing you how to use your dies as card bases. Start by taking a piece of cardstock folded in half and placing the die so that the folded edge of the cardstock is just inside the cutting line of the die. Easy enough, right? I must admit I have had this idea in my little brain for some time. I took the bottom of the Treat Slider Box die and saw a door! I know you all think I have totally lost it over here but that is okay! I just needed the right sentiment! Well low and behold Emma came out with the stamp set, awhile ago, Things I Love... and it has the PERFECT sentiment!
So I die cut the bottom part of the slider box out. I then got my X-acto knife, I rarely use this thing because the one time I did I cut myself pretty bad, and carefully cut out the center. I wanted my glass part to have a frosted look so I added vellum. You could use acetate as well for more of a glass look but since I wanted to have my inside have some funky looking wallpaper ( hehehe ~ these peeps might live in a 70's type house or have Easter themed wallpaper) I thought they need the frosted door look. Goodness my imagination is over the top with this post, right?? Then they have this big sign that says "Shut the front door!" They certainly don't want anyone to see their funky wallpaper! Oh my I am cracking up here just writing this post! I know my friend will love this card since we say this all the time & have the same corky sense of humor! I will list all my materials I used below and will let you all and have a good day! LOL

Materials Used:
Paper ~ PTI and MME

clear embossing powder

  3. Great looking door and I love the punny side of your clever card. For some reason I thought of another saying used years ago..."Close the Door!...Do you think you were brought up in a barn?" Every hear that one? Great job on a fun card.
