"Scrapping The Little Things"

Happy Monday! It's time for another "Scrapping The Little Things!" over at My Creative Time with Emma and the design team! If you are familiar with Project Life or Smash books that is what this is ALL about! Just doing whatever you wish to cherish those special moments in our lives. I must confess ~ I am so new to this concept that mine actually looks like a layout! I do apologize! I will get better in the future!

So I decided to scrap my son's first Halloween. His Dad was out of town and him being only a month and half old ~ we obviously stayed home. When his Dad came home from his trip ~ I had this CUTE little onesie I had bought ~ "Daddy's Little Pumpkin" ~ I had him where it for his Daddy! I still remember that day like it was yesterday! I think I might have saved that little onesie too ~ just so I can show my son when he graduates from school! LOL

Anyway I used tons of Emma's dies and stamps! They are just PERFECT for Project Life, Smash books and regular layouts.  I will list everything below so I don't bore you on a Monday! hehehe! What you can't see in the picture is I punched out my fence ( with white card stock) then inked it up a tad and then applied UTEE to it! To get my bats black I use my Inkadinkado marker ~ I actually like how they turned out! I did emboss my webs and camera. In order for my journal tag to slide behind the picture I used foam to pop it up. This makes the tag very easy to slide!
I got the idea for my tombstone from two of my fellow design team members and friends Nancy (click here) and Tracy ( click here) ~ I just loved that idea!

Picture (below) with the journaling tag out.

Here is my attempt of showing you my UTEE fence

Before I forget my fellow design team member and sweet friend Shar has these AMAZING hanging display for scrapbook layouts. Click here to her blog for a better picture of it or click here to her Etsy Shop. I had problems with the WIND ~ since we sit on top of a very windy hill to take a great picture. But below is at least some of it! I LOVE this! It fits my 12 x 12 layouts PERFECTLY!!!

  3. Kim, this is the cutest layout! First of course, Ryan was such an adorable baby! I love all of the elements you used on here. The tag, your pumpkin. the awesome fence, tombstone, spider web, camera... I could go on and on, but they all tie together beautifully! I hope you have that hanging in your cool frame for a Halloween decoration!

  4. Cute LO...great pics. My son was 3 days old on his first Halloween. My hubby took my 18 month old daughter to trick or treat...that left me handing out treats holding a newborn in one arm...he pretty much slept through Halloween...then "partied" all night...the way new babies usually do. 12. AND Ryan is definitely a "precious" little pumpkin.I have never heard of UTEE, i am going to have to check it out. Like your idea of using foam tape on the picture (very clever) to be able to put the tag in.. i usually just try to be very careful where i put the glue. Love all the little extra details, the layout just flows very nicely... hugs

  15. No need to apologize for this layout looking like a well put together layout. I prefer them myself and I really don't know exactly what difference makes a smash book page or a life book page. Great job! I love it :D

  18. You did an awesome job with this LO. I cannot get in the rhythm with layouts. Originally that was my plan to do LO and just actually scrap my pictures! HA HA well that has not worked out for me. Most of my pictures are either in a box or on various hard drives, zip disk, thumb drives...ok you get it lots of drives man! It would take me forever to get the pictures all off of all these things and that is IF I can remember where they all are. But they are preserved! HA HA I am going to make a effort to start doing LO. So happy to see this and especially a Halloween one!!
